RESCUE (RSQ)

The GST initiative and related activities present opportunities for improving the information flow and operation of the rescue chain. The focus of the RESCUE sub-project is to accurately assess the type of emergency and resources required to provide the appropriate response to a critical incident.

RESCUE ensures that information about the incident will be available in the emergency vehicles and that they are able to quickly and safely reach the incident scene. To ensure this, the sub-project will complete the in-vehicle emergency call chain, provide guidance to the emergency service to the scene of the incident by accurate locations, trial blue corridors and coning systems (vehicle-to-vehicle communication) thus warning other road users of the approach of the emergency services. In addition, the emergency response can greatly benefit from an exchange of information between the rescue units and control rooms (police, hospitals etc.).
